Huan De City will be the first phase to be developed in the CEFC project. It will set the standard for the type of project, standards, and technology that will be used in the CEFC project, and it will host facilities dedicated to research, seminars and training, services, and serve as the primary entry for European companies.

The business and production center occupies an area of 1,036,098 m2, designed to attract and boost the European and Chinese 4.0 industries with a special focus on IT & Smart Manufacturing, advanced materials and special equipment, and a top level medical and scientific center.

The Life Sciences Park is designed to be the first Medical Valley in China. The 1,030,086 m2 development will be equipped with an Incubator, Hospital, Medical campus, R&D facilities, Seniors Vocational School, Senior Care Center, and other medical services and facilities which will provide effective and efficient healthcare services.

The Sustainable Urban Park will house commercial, residential and manufacturing functions. The park is a system that balances and maximizes multiple social and environmental goals. It focuses on supporting public access to non-polluting vehicles and pedestrian accessibility to urban spaces.

The first building to be built in the CEFC, it is meant to showcase to visitors the urban planning for the area, and the advanced technologies that are going to be used in future phases.
WHAT IS CEFC ?
The China EU Future City (CEFC) is a pilot project under the EU-China Partnership on Urbanization which was launched at the EU-China Summit on February 14th 2012 in Beijing by Premier Wen Jiabao and the EU leaders. The partnership aims at promoting exchanges and cooperation in a wide range of sustainable urban development.
The CEFC will be a demonstration project to showcase this newly established relationship to fully implement the sustainable strategies for China’s urbanization.
The project will showcase the application of European and Chinese products and designs in order to promote and encourage further advancements towards sustainable urbanization.
The CEFC demonstrates the sustainable and environmental-friendly perspective in three stages:
- During the construction phase (design and incorporation of technologies).
- During the setup phase (getting the right mix of companies who focus on urbanization and have sustainable products).
- During the life-cycle of the park with minimum emission and successful businesses.

Innovative features
CEFC will create the template for the Shenzhen International Low Carbon City: a transformation of the existing Liulian community into a sustainable city as well as a regional hub, combining industrial, production, commercial, and residential areas based on an eco-friendly design.
